All students and families are welcome. Simply bring a dish to share and come celebrate with us. There will be crafts for the children as well as the presentation of the Student/Family of the Year award. Please sign up at the reception desk. We’d love to see you there!
Don’t forget! Master Gee’s Black Belt Academy will be closed from Wednesday, November 13 through Saturday, November 16. Our staff will be heading to Washington, DC to attend the annual EFC Martial Arts Convention.
We will be open on Monday (Remembrance Day) and Tuesday, November 11 & 12.
Master Gee’s is kicking off November with two intensive classes that will help adults gain new skills and confidence in self defense and kickboxing. Get ready to learn effective techniques in a safe environment with a world-class trainer.
This seminar will involve a realistic hands-on approach utilizing strikes to vital targets to the body. Men and women will learn simple yet highly effective defensive tactics against a variety of attacks. Men and women are required to wear a groin protector.
Seminar 2: Kickboxing Saturday, November 2: 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Students of all levels will learn offensive and defensive techniques used by world champions in a safe and fun environment. Equipment required for this course includes shin guards, light boxing gloves, groin protector and a mouthguard.

Seminars are open to Master Gee’s students, plus their family members and friends (ages 15+; younger teens aged may be accepted with parental permission).

Instructor Blanche Boyce, Master of Medical Qi Gong
Master Gee’s is proud to host a new class on using Qi Gong to promote health and longevity, starting on Sunday October 27, 2013. The class will be led by Blanche Boyce, Master of Medical Qi Gong.
Description
Medical Qi Gong is one of the Four Branches of Chinese Medicine. The focus of this class is to introduce students to aspect of Qi Gong that promote health and longevity, and to deepen this practice. The class will include:
Qi Gong for purging, tonifying and circulating Qi
Fundamental Daoist Qi Gong concepts
Daoist visualization and meditations
Healing sounds to purge the organs
Healing colours to strengthen the organs and chakras
Various standing postures
Walking Qi Gong
Qi self massage
Breath work
This class is also suitable for drop in.

Sunday mornings, October 27 – December 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (six weeks) at Master Gee’s Black Belt Academy

About the instructor
Blanche Boyce, BA, MMQ (Master of Medical Qi Gong)
Blanche is a graduate of the International Institute of Medical Qi Gong (IIMQ), California. and Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China. In addition, she has advanced training in Kongjing Qigong with Master Richter and Grand Master Peng, and training in Xiantianwujimen (Primordial Limitless Gate) Qigong with 19th generation lineage holder Master Eva Wong.
Blanche is a Registered Jin Shin Do Acupressure Therapist and a Medical Qi Gong Therapist. She works in North Vancouver.
A big congratulations and a fond farewell to Assistant Instructor Marta Kobylinska, who will be leaving us this month to pursue her lifelong dream.
Earlier this year, “Miss Marta” received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University with a joint major in Archaeology and Anthropology. Now, she’s moving to England, where a university archaeology position awaits her.
“We will miss you, but we are elated that you are following your dreams! Those of us who have had the privilege of your instruction have been blessed. Thank you Miss Marta! You will be sorely missed!”

Just a reminder that Fight Fit classes are still scheduled for Thursday October 3rd at 7:15pm and Saturday October 5th at 11:00am, even though belt promotions are taking place at the dojo.
